In April, Covent Garden’s East Piazza will be transformed into a quintessentially British pop-up, The Crown Jewels Garden. This limited-time event celebrates the best of British beer, gin, cider, and delectable food fit for royalty.

Running from Friday, 21st April, to Sunday, 14th May, The Crown Jewels Garden offers a variety of entertainment to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime occasion. On Saturday, 6th May, the Coronation ceremony will be broadcasted live, providing a unique opportunity to witness history in the making. Visitors will also be delighted and engaged by a schedule of live music and entertainment, which includes piano sing-alongs.

The Garden features the best British beer, cider, and gin, ensuring everyone’s taste buds are catered for. So whether you’re looking for a crisp and refreshing pint of beer or a smooth glass of gin, the Garden has it all. Covent Garden is rolling out the red carpet for the royal event with an array of exquisite Coronation Afternoon Teas. So take advantage of this memorable experience and pre-book to secure your spot.

Exciting Events and Activities for The King’s Coronation

To enhance the celebratory atmosphere, starting in mid-April, the historic Market Building and streets of Seven Dials will be decked out with more than 4,000 Union Jack flags. These will provide an ideal backdrop for capturing memorable photographs, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion.

Jimmy C, a graffiti artist and Instagram sensation renowned for designing Brixton’s iconic David Bowie memorial mural, is set to create a new art installation in honour of the Coronation. Incorporating iconography from the Coronation, Jimmy will be live painting an extra particular themed mural on Tuesday, 25th April.

The art installation will be crafted in partnership with the recycling initiative ‘Every Can Counts‘ and will consist of over 700 cans, reflecting Covent Garden’s commitment to sustainability. Visitors can observe the live painting of this installation throughout the day on the North Piazza. It will remain in its location until 30th May, adding a touch of artistic flair to the Coronation celebrations.
